Walking in the Prophetic Blessings – The reward of honour and submission

In Matthew 10:41, Jesus teaches about the “reward of the prophet,” saying, “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.” This profound statement reflects the spiritual principles of honor and submission, which are central to experiencing the blessings associated with prophetic grace.

The Reward of Honor

When someone recognizes and honors a prophet as a prophet, they partake in the blessings and grace tied to the prophet’s divine calling. This principle extends beyond mere acknowledgment; it involves a heartfelt respect for the office and role they occupy.

An illustrative example is found in the story of Elisha and Naaman. Naaman sought Elisha for healing, carrying a sense of honor for the prophet’s divine authority.

In the cultural context of the time, approaching a prophet often involved presenting a gift, not as a transactional exchange but as a gesture of reverence. Similarly, when we honor a prophet in their spiritual office, we align ourselves with the gifts (grace) working through them in exchange.

This grace manifests uniquely in each person’s life, depending on the prophetic grace upon the prophet. Some may find favor and ease in situations where others struggle.

Recognizing and respecting the divine anointing on someone’s life draws the blessings and graces these people into our own lives.

The Reward of Submission

Another key aspect of walking in prophetic blessings is submission. Hebrews 13:17 encourages believers to “obey those who have rule over you and submit yourselves, for they watch over your souls as those who must give account.”

Submission, in this context, is not about blind obedience but willingly aligning oneself with the spiritual leadership established by God.

When we submit joyfully and without causing grief, we create an environment of spiritual accountability and protection. Leaders, in turn, give an account to God or pray a blessing on the believers they lead.

This accountability brings blessings and profit to the lives of the submitted, as their obedience reflects alignment with divine order.

For example, active participation in a ministry or church, coupled with a submissive and cooperative spirit, results in spiritual covering and grace. This covering ensures that the blessings and graces working in the prophet and in the ministry flow easily into the life of the believer.

Combining Honor and Submission

The rewards of honor and submission are interwoven. Honor acknowledges the divine grace upon an individual, while submission ensures alignment with God’s ordained structure. Together, they unlock the “reward of the prophet.”

This reward includes both the spiritual grace and blessing on the prophet and the divine account (blessing) our spiritual leaders give to us in return.

To walk in prophetic blessings, we have to honor those whom God has anointed and to submit to His established order. These practices draw divine favor and open doors to blessings that might otherwise remain inaccessible.

In conclusion, the principles of honor and submission are not only acts of obedience but also pathways to experiencing the fullness of God’s blessings. As we honor those whom God has chosen and align ourselves with His order, we position ourselves to partake in the grace and rewards associated with the prophetic calling.

May this message inspire and bless you. Shalom.
